Race Date: Sunday 24 March 2013 – 10.45am Fun Run 11.30am 10K
PLEASE NOTE: Some of the route goes over private land and is not available to run before the day of the race. Please respect the wishes of the local farmers who kindly make available their fields each year.
This year will be the fourth running of this successful event. Monies raised over the last 3 years to supporting sports within the local community for young people has exceeded £5000. We are therefore delighted to invite you to this fabulous village event again in 2013. Now is the time to prepare yourself to take part in this challenging race, with its breathtaking scenery which includes Lilleshall Hill itself. Prizes for first three men and women and category prizes in the 10k race.
The day promises to be one for all the family to enjoy, with a fun run starting at 10.45 am, followed by the 10k at 11.30am. A lively warm up will take place prior to the fun run and food and drinks will be available throughout the morning with the cricket club bar open for those who develop a serious thirst! The course is well marshalled and sells itself as extremely friendly – check out reports on runners world!
Catherine Cooper, a fabulous local children’s author will be in attendance and hopes to have her latest book (hot off the press!) available for sale. Catherine has once again, very generously promised to donate a signed copy of her book to the first boy and first girl back from the fun run. ‘Goodie Bags’ will be available to everyone who takes part.

Your race can influence Ben Rowlings race! Ben an exceptional young man is busy studying A levels at New College, whilst putting in hours of training to achieve his ambition of competing in Switzerland in the hope of being selected for team GB to take part in the world wheelchair racing competition in July 2013. The proceeds of 2013 monumental race aim to ensure Ben gets to Switzerland with a wheel chair fit for the day!
Shropshire homes have generously committed support to offset the costs of the monumental race, so your running can help to get Ben on the track! Ben will be present at the monumental race to start the day and thank you all for helping him achieve his dream.
