The Newport January Jog returns in 2012 aiming to raise even more money for Macmillan Cancer Support to start of their Centenary Celebrations. The Jog takes place on Sunday, January 8th, at Shuker Field. The new off-road course for the 5km senior race and for the 2.5km fun run will again be used after the very positive feed-back from the 2011 race. Last year’s event achieved the ambitious target of raising £5,000 for Macmillan cancer Support, up £2,000 on the 2010 race. It is hoped that the 2012 race will increase on this to raising over £5,000!
There is plenty of fun for all the family with refreshments and live entertainment provided on the day. Registration starts at 11am at the sports field with organisers aiming to get as many people signed up before the day as possible. The cost of the event has been frozen this year with the senior race £5 and the fun run only £3. There is no minimum amount of money to raise.
